Applications For The Fall 2022 Yseali Academic Fellowships at U.S Embassy Philipines

The call for the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) was announced by the Public Affairs Section
of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines for candidate to commence with applications of the scholarship opportunity.

Applications For The Fall 2022 Yseali Academic Fellowships at U.S Embassy Philippines

The scholarship is made available with the aim of producing exceptional young leaders into the U.S. in other to
improve their leadership and professional skills. This scholarship will accommodate young applicants under the age
of 18-25. The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative is going to be a short term program with intensive curriculum that will enhance their leadership skills with deeper understanding.

Economic Development, Civic Engagement, Environmental Issues, and Social Entrepreneurship are the themes in which the program will focus on one of them. It’s going to be a five week in-person program in the U.S. taking place in August to November 2022. Candidate will also be giving an opportunity to explore other areas outside the fore walls of the school, like cultural activities and so on. If the program happens to take place online, then candidates will take educational activities online from their various countries.

Degree Level:
The scholarship will cover both graduate and postgraduate programs at the U.S.

Available Subjects:
All courses are available for application at the university.

Eligible Nationalities:
The nationality eligible for this scholarship is South East Asian.

Eligibility Criteria:
priority will be given to student who are not able to afford their tuition fee or student that are from
rural areas or poor background. Applicants are expected to be full-time undergraduate student from college
or university or other institution. Applicants must therefore be:

1. A citizen and resident of the Philippines;
2. A YSEALI member (Register for free);
3. Between the ages of 18 and 25 at the time of application;
4. Not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States;
5. Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
6. A full-time undergraduate college student or have graduated in the past four years;

An ideal applicant should also:

1. Show interest, professional experience, or knowledge in any of the above mentioned fellowship themes.
2. Candidate should be willing to return to the Philippines to apply leadership skills and all they have
been taught.
3. Show a serious willingness in learning about the United States and Southeast Asia as a region;
4. Display a commitment or interest in community service, volunteerism, or mentorship

Scholarship Benefit Expected:
The scholarship is fully funded for successful applicants.

June 8, 2022, 11:59 P.M. Philippine Standard Time

Application Procedure:
The Scholarship will take place between August-November and all applicants are required to apply through the official portal for all students.
